Note: This is the second part of our three part series, “Talking CBD in Santa Barbara.” In Part 1 we covered the basics of what CBD is, how it works, and what CBD can help with.
We sat down with Byron Engelking, manager of The Canopy on Milpas Street in Santa Barbara to chat about CBD and specifically products that The Canopy sells that might be of interest to those who would like to see if CBD can improve their lives.
We asked Byron a few questions to get his perspective as a dispensary manager who has an overview of products and patient responses.
What are some of the benefits your customers have reported from taking CBD?
Some of the benefits our patients have reported are pain relief on bones and muscles, this includes after major injuries, surgeries or extreme cases of arthritis.
Patients have also reported elevated moods and lower stress levels.
Also suppressed nausea and/or vomiting and increased appetite are something we hear.
Are there any CBD products you particularly recommend?
Ringo’s gift 20:1 is magic and everyone should try it… at home… far away from heavy machinery!
And anybody who loves CBD, cannabis or is unsure of it all will fall in love with Papa and Barkley topical balms 1:3 and 3:1.
Kushy Punch gummies (3:1 cbd/thc) and Kiva Chocolates (1:1) will make most edible fans a happy camper.
This time a year is the perfect time for tea! Positivi-tea 2:1 and Sympa-tea 6:1.
For the tincture lover Care By design, Papa and Barkley, and Allegiance are all great brands to try.
The Canopy on Milpas Street CBD Selection
As Byron mentioned The Canopy has a wide selection of CBD products for a variety of uses and with varying quantities of CBD:THC ratios.
The higher the ratio of CBD to THC, the less you will fee the psychoactive effects of the THC.
For example, a ratio of 18:1 will have high amounts of CBD to THC and will typically not give you any sort of head high.
A ratio of 1:1 will have equal parts THC and CBD and give you more of the high typically associated with cannabis.
If you are curious about trying any of the CBD products stocked at The Canopy we recommend you get your medical marijuana card if you don’t already have one, and register as a patient.
There is a 24 hour waiting period after you register until you are able to make your first purchase at The Canopy (this is a Santa Barbara City stipulation).
After that you will be able to access CBD products easily and locally in Santa Barbara. The Canopy even has convenient delivery options!
Stay tuned for the next part of our series where we chat with Wil Glass of High Tide about their range of CBD products.
